upfest picks colab nation picks and beatcheck interview

first of all im gunna drop the link to the beatcheck interview i did for ther new blog/whats on in mk site, it turned out ok and i didnt sound as boring as i usualy do in it lol massive thanks to monkey jason and all the crew for thinking of me, you can read it here

also i managed to get myself involved in the colab nation night in camden on the 21st of may, i would have posted it sooner but ive been so cought up with upfest that i didnt get round to it, but here it is, it was a realy cool day and the other artists were realy nice people, massive shout out to squiril for only bringing his card out and having to by a round every time he wanted a drink hehe, anyway heres the pick :

next up, im gunna show you the stencil i got ready for upfest, i tested it out b4 i got ther thank god and was able to iron out a few of the glitches, but i realy like it in these oranges aswell, and i think more big stencils of my photoshop gods and monsters will look dope, im working on an idea based around darwin sitting on a throne of skulls, atm which i think will be realy cool, EVILution, is the working title hehehe puns make me giggle, anyway heres the pick of the stencil test:

see pretty cool huh? right just b4 i get to upfest and my peice im gunna drop you a couple of picks from a lil mission i went on last night in newport, i basicly descoverd that a peice i painted a couple of years ago was missing a face so i thought i couldnt leave he like that so i went and put a new one on, but whilst i was doing that i did a new lil bit aswell wich i do actualy quite like, its a mix of brush and spray, and i think its the way forward for all my street stuff now, well the charicter based stuff anyway, see what you think...

belo is my peice for upfest, thers some cool bits in ther but i dont think it quite hangs 2gether, nevermnd i still had an awsome time, some of the work was unbelievable  heres the picks

as you can see i got totaly schooled but thats cool, i was kinda expecting that anyways, i did see quite a few new difrent ideas that have given me alot to think about tho, and to be fair this was the first time i had tried to combine useing stencils and charicter work 2gether b4 so it was always gunna be a bit hit or miss whether it would work, i think i went a lil to small with the girl, and she looks kinda lost in ther, anyway nevermind, i was pretty suprised when they said they were gunna let me paint ther anyway, but hopefully theel let me paint ther next year, so im definatly in practice for the next year lol.

anyway, heres some picks from the secret wars final dirty old town vs colab nation, pretty awsome battle realy, colab nation won, and ther peice was super dope, but dirty old towns peice was pretty awsome aswell, ugg you deside which  you like:

right thats about it i think, ive got a few things cummin up down the pipeline, im doing a stall with a couple of friends at the cambell park festival which will be cool, thats at the end of june, so im gunna be mad bizzy getting some actual product ready for that, a few difrent prints and a few canvases and some dolls and some tees, is the plan, ill drop you the picks when done, anyway im gunna leave you with some of the graffiti from around bristol, its a realy cool town and if you get a chance go,

adios till next time

THE FESTIVAL TO BE AT THIS SUMMER
- FREE ENTRY - - FREE ENTRY - - FREE ENTRY -
Europe’s largest free urban paint festival; Upfest, is now in its fourth year and is preparing to take over its cultural home Bristol by welcoming over 250 artists and 40 DJs, Groups & Human Beatboxers to the event this summer between 4th and 5th June 2011.
‘The Urban Paint Festival’ is now firmly established as the main event for street art in Europe. The two day explosion of events attracts urban artists from all over the world who flock to The Tobacco Factory - the festival’s birthplace, as well as a number of locations across the city.
Big names in national street art culture Don, Inkie and Spqr set up their temporary home alongside home grown talents Cheo, Jody and Lokey.
Upfest partner Stephen Hayles explains why this has become such an integral part of the UK graffiti scene:
“Bristol is established as the home of graffiti in the UK; the whole country and now even the world has attributed this to the City. We are proud to be a part of this movement and will continue to provide a platform for brand new artists to break onto the UK urban art scene. The fact that it’s free just makes it even more exciting.”
The festival helps raise funds and more importantly awareness for the Bristol based charity NACOA who work to address the problems children have growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism. Upfest is a completely volunteer led festival and has so far raised £15,000 for the charity.
